Love that has a spotlight love the motion detection. Love the picture quality. And a different night vision mode in the human body detection function.

Great cameras I have to say but getting help from technical support is NON EXISTANT. They don’t reply to emails once you become a customer. They have advertised free camera on there website when you ask them they don’t reply either.. the camera quality is amazing but there customer service isn’t worth paying anything. LAVIEw wanted me to do a review on Amazon on condition I gave high stars but didn’t do what they said… no longer a fan of LAVIEW

great cameras, great features. My only complaint is that it took several attempts to get the cameras to read the QR code during the setup. The instructions also refer to a different model, they refer to a red light which does not exist. Other than that, excellent picture.

The camera and the packaging is very quality built. Camera was added to the app easily without problem. picture quality is good, with good color, and resolution. When retrieve videos, it takes some time verses if the camera can be connected to the local LaView control module that might be better.

This camera is easy to install and the app is very user friendly. The spotlight on the camera if you choose to enable that option is very bright. The night vision works great. We get notified when someone pulls in our driveway. Highly recommend.

The LaView 4MP Outdoor / Indoor Security Camera is a good product. In fact, I would give it 5 Stars. However, the only way the camera is usable is through the LaView App and it is not so good - I would give it 3 Stars - more on this later. I gave the whole package 4 Stars because their Customer Service was responsive and helpful. My contact, Hoshi, was very helpful and receptive to my concerns. He has reported them to their technical staff (hopefully they will be responsive to his inputs). The first thing I noticed was that the packaging was quite good and the vulnerable parts were well protected. Setup was simple, well described, and went smoothly. The camera has outstanding resolution and clarity. It’s after dark performance is also very good. The motion detection features all work well and it’s ability to differentiate humans from the noise of other motion is a particularly valuable tool and seems to work pretty good. The mounting system with the camera magnetically attached to the base is clever and worked fine for me. The only thing I might change is where the cable exists the camera. Right now it comes out directly opposite (behind) the lens which makes it impossible to aim the camera absolutely perpendicular to the surface that the camera cradle is attached to. I mounted the camera high enough such that it had to be aimed downward and I had no problem with this. The spot light is bright and allows the image to switch to full color in the darkness of the night. I have not had the camera long enough to report its’ durability against Mother Nature but have had no problems so far with mine being mounted outside. Now, getting back to the app, I could go on and on but will hit just a couple of the “low lights”. I view the camera image on 2 devices - an iPhone and an iPad. Maybe I'm different than the rest of the world but when I get a push notification of an “event” from the camera, I want to immediately play a clip of the video showing the event. There’s no way to do that. Tapping on the notification does not take me, either directly or even indirectly, to the video. It indirectly takes me to a thumbnail photo which usually shows the person and that screen leads me only to a “live” camera image. To view the video, you have to note the time-stamp of the event, find the “playback” button to tap, and then hunt for the time you want to start viewing. That isn’t too bad if you have setup the camera to only record events but if, like me, you want to have continuous recording to the memory card, the video of the event is buried in the timeline with no markers for “events”. It ain’t worth the effort! When viewing camera images on my iPad, it’s like the app developer forgot to even take a look. The app has a button that switches the view to full screen/landscape and, on my phone, presents you with an image at least twice as big, which is very useful. On my 11” iPad, that button leads to a weird landscape view in which the image is actually smaller than the one on my phone. They have completely missed the opportunity to present the user with a huge, spectacular, full screen, landscape view, really showing off the good resolution of this camera. This is 2 of the issues I had with the app - there are more. So, bottom line is, - good camera - app needs some work. I will enjoy and make good use the hardware and hope that the app software people listen to the inputs from their customer service people. If they do implement some changes that make the app more useful, I will gladly revise my rating to 5 stars. This is my second camera set I bought from LaView. I bought a pair of PB9 last year and they are still working great. This new pair of cameras are excellent. They are smaller, lightweight, easier to install (they are magnetic) and the resolution is 2k up from 1080p. As you can see from the photos, the package includes everything you need to install it inside or outside. The magnet is strong enough to hold the camera and It will take you less than 5 minutes to download the app and install the camera to the smarthphone. Remember to be connected in a 2.4 wifi network because it will sync the wifi to the camera. I tested the cameras with a 128gb micro sd card. It will record approximately 8 to 9 days in continuous mode in the micro sd card. If you set it up using only motion detection it will record much more. I transferred a couple of videos to my computer and the resolution is great. A 5 minutes clip is around 40mb in size. The two-way audio communication is clear and the speakers are loud. The spotlight is bright enough considering the size of the camera. Overall, I think this is an excellent camera and I highly recommend it. Like I said before, I have one year with my PB9 cameras from LaView and so far I don't have any issues. I'm confident these B5 models will be excellent as well. ——By Amazon Customer

I already have 4 LaView cameras, but needed the human detection and enhanced setup for detection areas and these new cameras solved my false triggering issues nicely. Great picture quality and the magnetic mounts are a definite plus. Setup is simple, uses the same software as my existing LaView cameras, so they easily integrated with my existing setup. This is not my first LaView product but it’s a slickest one they’ve had yet it’s small weatherproof. LaView products and the app are so easy to use and set up in minutes you can have a surveillance system that detects motion, follows motion ,listen and talk through with some cameras and has great night vision you can record to it SD card or to the cloud .The best value out there.

It's very small and can be placed in many different locations. I've been using it to monitor my 3D printer and it's working excellent. Great visibility and takes up minimal space. This is a great security camera for the backyard. It is very sensitive for the motion detection though. Every time the wind blew or the dogs moved in the yard it sent me a notification on my phone. When I looked at the light that comes on when there is a motion, it does not look bright at all. But I can see perfectly everything in the back yard at night. The the camera takes great photos. She was able to help me try a couple techniques to try to fix the broken camera, and when it didn't work, they are sending me another camera. Still an inconvenience, however I appreciate that they made the situation right! I ordered a 2-pack, and one camera works fine. The other one will not stay online! I've been working with their tech support, and nothing they have tried is working. It's obvious it is a faulty equipment. This is 3rd LaView outdoor cameras I purchased. The App is easy to use. There is 1 or 2 second delay for the notification, but it is acceptable. So far there is no false notification.The picture are really clear and the size of the camera is great. Installation is pretty straightforward. One recommendation I have for LaView is that I hope the camera can link to the home base. If someone steals the camera, the camera footage will be gone. Awesome security camera w/ a clear picture at night and day time. Even better w/ the iCloud storage on the app which is great also.

This is a wired camera and I have my camera set up outside and the wire runs inside. After having the camera outside for 24 hours, it got wet with a heavy downpour and it turned off for about 12 hours. I had reached out to the company but before they replied my camera camera cam back on after drying. They told me they were going to send me a backup camera which I am over the moon about. We have not had any issues since that one day. The camera has really good video imaging and captures a large area. We get several notifications, thru the app, during the day when movement is detected. But I have noticed I do not get any notifications during the night. My husband comes home during the night and it has never detected him coming in but I am hoping that the new backup camera will. The night time picture image is pretty clear so I'm not sure what that issue is. For the price this is a really good little camera so far. We have only had the two issues and the water issue was resolved. I'm honestly not sure what happened but water could have trickled down the line. ——By Amazon Customer

This is my first outdoor camera that I have purchased. I live in an apartment building so I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a security system but I did want to have some sort of camera for my amazon deliveries. For starters, the picture quality of the camera is amazing, both during the day and during the night and you can even zoom in and the best part is that is full color. The app makes it so easy to access the feed and you can record clips or take snapshots. It has a magnetic mount that allows to set it up in different angles. First of all I love how simple it is to set this camera up. Second is the ease of installation, 3 screws and it simply attached to the magnetic base. The IR function works well and the color night mode is great also. The picture of the backyard withe the basketball hoop was taken after 10pm with no lights on other then that of my neighborhood. I did have another camera in my living room / kids play room and this camera has a much wider field of view. This is my 9th LaView security camera. Of these cameras this one has the best picture quality both in daytime and evening low light. This camera also supports Human Detection which can be enabled/disabled. During the evening when this feature was enabled the camera only trigged when walking in my yard. When this feature was disabled insects flying at night triggered the camera multiple times. The camera displays great picture quality in low light. My back yard lights turn off at 2:00 am. While the lights (which are low wattage) are on, the camera displays and records good quality color images. Once the lights turn off the camera worked great using Infrared, Color Night Vision (Spotlight On) and Smart Mode (uses infrared mode until motion is detected and then uses color night vision with spotlight on until recording is completed). Unlike my other LaView cameras which are tightly fastened to their mount, this one uses a magnet and some sticky tape on the mount to secure the camera. This seems to adequately fasten the camera in position for normal situations like windy days, etc. but if you were to bump it with your body it would need to be adjusted. So far, this magnetic mount has not been an issue. Overall, I think this is an incredible camera for the price. ——By Amazon Customer

The camera has a very clear and high resolution picture. I had a bit of an issue setting it up with my wifi but that may have been on my end. I love the spotlight feature and the notifications on my phone when it detects movement. I had to use a bit of trial and error so I wouldn’t receive too many notifications but I got it right pretty quickly. One minor gripe is when I wall mounted it, the cord is a little obtrusive, and the cord location blocks the perfect angle of where the camera attaches to the magnetic mount. It still provides enough visibility so not a huge deal. One feature I would like to have is the ability to move the camera lens so I can have a larger viewing area. Lost count on how many indoor & outdoor WiFi cams I've tested in past 3 years for my own use and as a Vine Voice reviewer for Amazon. These LaView B5 do have some fairly unique PROS: 1. FULL COLOR images day AND night. 2. SPOTLIGHT built-in and it's brighter than you'd expect. 3. FASTER live image appearance on the LaView app. 4. Better WEATHERPROOFING for outdoor use because power cord is permanently attached. 5. Magnetic mount of a ROUND camera lets you aim it in more directions. 6. EASY TO USE APP which I can tell was created for LaView by TUYA (the WiFi device industry leader). 7. IMAGE QUALITY surpasses EVERY other indoor/outdoor WiFi cam I've tested to date. CON 1. If you are replacing an outdoor camera, you may already have a micro USB male plug that's ready to connect to a new camera. You'll need a USB 2.0 Female to Micro USB Female adapter to do that with LaView B5 because it's "hard wired" power cord has a USB 2.0 Male connector on the end. Bought these a few days ago and went to set them up only to find there is no Windows Program that support them. The Features on the Phone are all Fine and dandy. Good features and They're not bad cameras for the price but the fact that I now have to use a third party program to Set up remote backup and Cloud Storage is Very annoying and going to take me a few hours of work to have them actually set up securely.
