Lag time between input and camera movement. Night vision works great.

I am having a lot of problems trying to share my device with my family and to see a live view from the app I have another camaras and I don't have any problems with those and the set up were very easy I hope and I can resolve these issues if not I will have to return it . Really great value for the money. This is the third LaView camera I have purchased and it definitely did not disappoint. Really easy to set up and was off in running in 5 minutes, that includesnthe automatic firmware update. The LaView app is great and easy to use. Lots of great features including spotlight, infrared, nightime mode, subject tracking etc. Simply can not beat the value of this camera. Video quality is superb and the external antenna allows for boosted connectivity to your wifi network. I will definitely be buying more of these. Perfect for a corner of your home or garage where you can track a subject and not just have a fixed position.

Ease of install was quick and easy. Motion detection resets the camera to straight forward position so using it as a motion detector from an angle will reset camera to a position that might not work cover your yard anymore especially if you mounted it up higher. It is so nice to check in on my home and property when I'm out working at my job. Being able to change the direction remotely is a huge plus. For the price and quality I really don't think you could find a better product.

I have purchased about 9 LaView cameras so far. All of them have met my expectations, just like this one. Pros: Casing seems durable in ordinary family/household use environment. It boots up quickly & connects seamlessly to the phone app; one minute is all I needed to get this thing going! Image is crisp, 2K is certainly better. Pan/tilt is smooth, motion detect measures up, memory card slot is concealed with thick rubber-like cap for moisture protection, & the price is acceptable. Rooms for improvement: I would like to see the Motion Tracking feature restores/default the camera back to the original position after a moving object is no longer trackable by the camera. ——By Amazon Customer

well of course you have to plug this in...how else is it supposed to work, on thoughts and prayers?? anyway...when I bought this camera, I also purchased a USB extender cord, and some clips to hang the wire neatly, everything arrived together which was a nice bonus, I found a good spot for the camera, (I paired the camera to the app before mounting it, you need to show the camera a QC code your phones app generates to pair it, and I would have had to climb the ladder again to do that) set up was easy, the mounting screws it comes with are kinda small and flimsy, so I used my own, one thing that bothered me during installation was the position of 2 of the 3 screw holes on the base, one screw hole is easy to access with a screwdriver or screw gun, but the other two are positioned in a way that wont let you hold the screwdriver straight because the camera itself is in the way, not the end of the world, just a bit awkward having to screw at an angle, once installed, I was amazed, nice clear picture on my phone app, , there is NO APP FOR PC, however the seller did provide a website where I could link my camera, so its almost the same, except I don't see a settings options there, moving the camera around is easy, but there is a lag from when you tap the icon to when the camera actually starts moving, making it... not so easy to pinpoint, again, not the end of the world, after messing with it a bit you get the hang of it, night mode is where I was really impressed, my current cameras only see about 20 or 30 feet before the rest fades to black at night, this camera sees everything in the dark, and you can even choose night vision in color, I turned off the flood light and tracking features, so I can't comment on those, I did try the intercom, it also has a tiny lag from when you speak, to when sound comes out of camera, but it does work like its supposed to, I can talk to people and listen as well, over all Im very happy with the camera so far, it is wifi, so video won't always be as smooth as a wired camera, but for me, its just fine, I really just want it to monitor my driveway when Im way out back, Ive only had it 2 days, if it keeps working this way, then its well worth the price, thank you! ——By Amazon Customer

I use this as a means of watching over an elderly family friend's home. Gives me peace of mind being able to check his property when I'm not available in person.

For the price of this camera, it has some nice features. Id give this camera an 8 out of 10. Cons: 1. Does not have preset option for camera to monitor 2. Needs reset from time to time 3. Human detection is lacking. Cars and moving bushes will send an alert even after adjustment on sensitivity levels. Pros: 1. (favorite) motion tracking (awesome) 2. Awesome color night vision. Given i have outdoor lighting all around my house. Never have to use the night vision option. 3. Yes! This has non stop recording. Never miss anything through out the day or night. 4. Easy install (2mins) from start to end. 5. Again crystal clear images and video playback 6. I have a total of 9 Laview cameras, different types inside and outside of my home. Can view all 9 simultaneously. Awesome feature for sure. 7. Can view all 9 via Laview app or on desktop 8. Shareable to other family members 9. Micro sd card capable or cloud service. 10. I purchased this in need of a camera with spotlight, night vision, and ability to move for my building. Upon unboxing, I was happy to see the power cord is long. Mounting was simple with provided mounting paper. The camera gets has a very crisp and clear image. It has very good optics and great night vision as well as the spotlight. I took a screenshot of the camera controls, and image quality from the LaView app. The app integration is simple and sophisticated. Scan a QR code from your phone with the camera, and it adds the camera in your app. You have the ability to change the type of alerts you get to your smartphone, as well as the ability to hear, and talk with someone on the other end of the camera. The camera also has a slot for micro sd card. I paired mine with the LaView 64gb purple sd card. Playback in the app is seamless. Love the camera! Great value! Crisp, clear video & still pictures. It has night vision, motion tracking etc. Although it says it works with Alexa - I was able to get it to work with Google also! I have both(Alexa and Google) in my home. I'll ask Google to show the "upstairs camera" on the master bedroom tv & BAM! There it is. When I ask Alexa to show the "upstairs camera" I can touch the Echo Show screen to explore/manipulate the camera views also. It has lots of features & settings, you'll need time to get to know them & once you do you'll love the peace of mind when you can keep an eye on your home inside and out.——By Amazon Customer

Phenomenal product! Couldn’t be happier and recommend to anyone debating whether they should get this or not! Ill admit I was skeptical at first and was a bit hesitant to place my order but then after fully realizing all this stellar product could do and how smoothly and easy it is to use I’m definitely not regretting my discussion!! The 2k clarity is unreal, and the spotlight feature is also tremendous at night especially if someone ever tried to break in, it would definitely make any robbers reconsider! It requires external power. But the pics and description do not mention it. Still I tried to set up but the app doesn't recognize the device.

* Edit to the following regarding Alexa not being supported in the 2K version. This has been resolved, and not only has it been resolved but it's nice to see their support function in the app leads to quick resolutions such as this. I suppose it's actually 2K. Picture looks really crisp, and frames are optimally smooth when viewing from a 2K capable device. Optical zoom is also decent up to a ways out. The camera has 2 streaming modes. HD (which is 2K), and SD (which I assume is somewhere between 1080 and 720). As of this writing, any device not quite up to spec will need to stream in SD or else you will experience low FPS (choppy video) when trying to view in HD. Viewing from a web browser is also limited to SD. At present, I have also noticed when viewing from a 10" onn tablet (Walmart budget tablet), that playing back video will not load, something to keep in mind if you're trying to playback video from a low-end device. From smartphone, I am able to view in full 2K and the image quality is very noticeable compared to 1080. The interface is newly improved from the 1080 model. In wide screen mode, all controls can be toggled by tapping the screen. The user interface appears more refined. Should be the interface for all of their devices. Night Mode feature on this model is pretty good. There is Infrared, Color (starlight), and Smart (auto toggles between the 2 when motion is sensed). There is also a spotlight option that works when Color mode is active, which shines a beam of light of its target. It can be toggled off/on. Audio seems better than the 1080 model. The intercom seems louder. The alert / detection options are the reason I choose a LaView based camera. If you like setting the record mode to non-stop, as opposed to event only recoding, then this will save you from having to scroll through footage to find that all the camera picked up was a limb shaking, or an expected face as it will take a screenshot of what it saw then log it for later viewing in the app. It also has human body filtering, which is a bit okay, sometimes it says it detected a human body when all that's in view is a cat, but it does cut down on motion alerts. I love this feature of the camera, as you can wind up with a photo reel of all the action it picked up during the day ranging from visitors to the mailman, to strangers, etc. These photos can be found in the Message Center of the app under profile. The only issue is, and it may be asking too much, but once you tap view on the image it only opens the camera stream and not the playback of where it detected the motion. It does gives you the time and date at least, so you know where to look when viewing playback. Notification can also be turned off so that you are not notified when motion is detected, but it will still log the snapshot in the app. Motion tracking, I will never use. It seems okay, but if the subject is walking at a brisk pace in the dark the camera will pick up on it but will not latch on. I suppose there is a bit of lag in detection. The camera will sweep where motion has been detected, but since it will be behind, the subject is out of view by the time the camera continues tracking. This is not a problem if the subject is meandering slowly and stops to do something anywhere near the camera. Camera will not return to previously set position so if the subject left the area to the far right, then that's where the camera will stay until you pan it back. There are two notable hardware features I have found on the 1080P version that are not included on the 2K version. One is quite surprising, and that would be there is no LAN port. This was quite shocking, as I like to have both options available. I'd prefer wired ethernet, however the 2.4 wi-fi connection seems to be optimal, and even more-so seeing as the LaView software is quite efficient at delivering decent frames per second when viewing the video stream. There's absolutely no lag or choppiness when viewing over Wi-Fi, or 4G, in high definition from a mobile phone capable of viewing 2K plus video. This may be a bit of a concern if one was to install the camera behind a wall not easily allowing wireless signal to pass through, or if the camera is located in an area that has heavy interference affecting the 2.4 band. The other, less concerning feature the 1080P Cam has is the way the SD card and the reset button is set up on the camera. The LaView camera is a bit different from other cameras, as the SD card port is located at the top of the camera, concealed beneath the pan\tilt support arm which would make it quite complicated for strangers to access it. I've seen other cameras place this port beneath the camera completely in view of suspecting strangers. The 1080P version has a more rigid plastic lid that's secured by two screws, but the 2K version has only a rubber plug, I have placed a bit of bondic along the perimeter of the plug to improve waterproofing. Bugs or features that appears to be missing. -When the camera is power cycled, the camera does not return to where you previously set it to. The camera powers on and aims straight ahead. Not a problem unless there is an unexpected power failure. And for expected power cycles, you just have to know to aim it back where you had it. I believe this may be a bug, as the 1080 model remembers where it left off when it reboots. -Alexa function is not currently supported. It works on the 1080 version, but for the 2K version Alexa says "Camera doesn't support that." I have tried, from an echo show, and the Fire Cube, both of which shows the stream fine with the 1080 model, or the interior 1080 cameras. I have sent in both issues to the feedback in the app and have received feedback that the issues are being looked into. I'd like to see a feature to allow presets, so that you can tap a preset, and the camera moves to that point.
